SRM Institute of Management Studies became functional in 1993 as a part of SRM Engineering College. The institute, named after Sri Ramaswamy, the father of Sri T.R. Pachamuthu who is the chairman of all SRM Group of Institutions, is one of the largest in terms of number of students and the degrees granted. Located in a suburbia campus, it has a facility at Chennai city campus to maintain interface with the business community. Affiliated to University of Madras, it offers a full time MBA programme for 60 students, and a part time evening programme for another 40 students.SRM Institute of Management Studies is located in Kattankulathur, Tamil Nadu.
