SRM Institute of Management Studies became functional in 1993 as a part of SRM Engineering College. The institute, named after Sri Ramaswamy, the father of Sri T.R. Pachamuthu who is the chairman of all SRM Group of Institutions, is one of the largest in terms of number of students and the degrees granted. Located in a suburbia campus, it has a facility at Chennai city campus to maintain interface with the business community. Affiliated to University of Madras, it offers a full time MBA programme for 60 students, and a part time evening programme for another 40 students.SRM Institute of Management Studies is located in Kattankulathur, Tamil Nadu. It is one of the constituent units of SRM Group of Institutions. Started in 1993, the college is affiliated to University of Madras. SRM Institute of Management Studies is approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India. The college teaches management studies to students, at the postgraduate degree level. The course is a two-year full time programme. SRM Institute of Management Studies provides a number of state-of-the-art facilities to its students. Facilities Library well stocked library with 5000 books and 50 journals and also avail facilities of madras library Network. Computer centre is equipped with AC/AT 486, PC/AT 386, PC/AT, PC/XT with 65 terminals installed in UNIX & LAN with softwares packages and colour Jet, Laser and multy media equipment. Inplant Training Training in Industry is arranged during summer vacation. General Shon-term management programmes offered to engineering and pharmacy graduates; plans to create an academic cross disciplinary research environment. Placement Facility available.
