Department of Medical Genetics

The Department has been revived in September 2007 with the appointment of a Professor and Two Lecturers.

Research :

=> Recurrent pregnancy loss UGC.
=> Chennai Twin registry ICMR
=> Preventive Genetic Services Chennai Petroleum corporation Manali - completed.
=> Leptin levels in Down syndrome Completed.
=> Malocclusion in Mono & dizygotic twins. Completed.
=> Mutations in Steroid resistant Nephrotic Syndrome.
=> UGC ongoing

The Department is involved in a research project titled” Concordance of physical characteristics among Monozygotic Twins”. This project is being funded by the University research Council.
