Students of Tamil Nadu’s govt, govt aided, local body schools with required marks, and parental income of upto Rs 3.5 lakh can appear in NMMS consisting of MAT and SAT exams. A total of 6695 students in Tamil Nadu will get scholarships of Rs 12000 per year on the basis of Tamil Nadu NMMS.

Exam Pattern and Syllabus of NMMS Tamil Nadu
NMMS Tamil Nadu exam has two tests.
- The Mental Ability Test (MAT): This Test section will have 90 objective types and multiple-choice questions. Each question is for one mark. These questions will be based on analogy, pattern perception, classification, hidden figures, etc. and they will test a student’s reasoning and critical thinking skills.
- Scholastic Ability Test (SAT) – This also consists of 90 objective-type, multiple-choice questions of one mark each. These questions will come from subjects and topics taught in classes VII and VII Science, Social Science, and Mathematics, and will test the scholastic aptitude of a student.

You should get your Tamil Nadu NMMS admit card before appearing in the exam. You can download NMMS Tamil Nadu admit card at dge.tn.gov.in.
You can also enquire from the Directorate of Government Examinations Tamil Nadu. You should have your application form details to get the NMMS admit card for the Tamil Nadu National Means Merit Scholarship exam.
Tamil Nadu NMMS Cut Off
In order to qualify for the NMMS scholarship, you must:
Pass both test i.e. MAT and SAT with at least 40% in aggregate (32% for SC, ST).
Therefore the cut off is as follows

After NMMS Result – How to avail scholarship?
Students should be on the NMMS merit list of Tamil Nadu and also satisfy all the eligibility criteria to get the scholarship.
To get a scholarship, you have to do the following.
- Apply on the National Scholarship Portal (NSP).
- The Tamil Nadu state government will verify the details and send them to the Ministry to get funds.
- You should also have or open an account with SBI preferably, or any public sector bank or any scheduled bank which has a core banking facility.
- The authorities disburse the scholarship amount to the SBI, an implementing bank for all students of Tamil Nadu who will get NMMS scholarships.
- NMMS scholars of Tamil Nadu get money in their bank account through electronic transfer through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT).
