Department has regular practice of taking regular attendance of the students, students seminars, group discussions, Literary quiz programmes, publication of wall papers, conducting study tours, arranging jnansatras, seminars, workshops etc. Invite visiting fellows and eminent scholars. Dept. has their own alumni association with various activities. Our faculty members providing services to our and other Universities as member or chairperson of the various power bodies of University, like senate, syndicate, board of studies, etc… Our faculty members providing their services to Gujrati Sahitya Parishad, Gujarat Sahitya Academy, Akhil Bharatiya Sahitya Parishad, Government and NGO, GPSC and UPSC, Aakashvani, Television, Newspapers, Radio center, News letter editing. Topic & monograph writers in different Encyclopedia and dictionary. They are rendering their services to the various societal organization and institution in different categories, organizing and conducting lectures, seminars, symposia, workshops as a participant or chair person.

A great matter of proud for our Department is that one of our senior most faculty members Dr.Naresh Ved rendered his invaluable services to Saurashtra University, Rajkot as Pro. Vice Chancellor, Gujarat University, Ahmedabad as Vice Chancellor and Bhavnagar University, Bhavnagar as Vice Chancellor. It is the rare honor of any academician to have credit in their cap.

Research is a very significant activity of our Department. Our Department has a very active faculty committed to research work. A bird’s eye view of our research activities. 100 students have been awarded Ph.D. Degree and 170 students have been awarded Degree up till now. Students have been admitted to M. Phil and Ph. D. programmes in the IX plan. Our three faculty members have completed their minor and major research work in last five years, funded by the U.G.C., New Delhi and three members of our faculty are engaged presently in there research work, funded by the U.G.C., New Delhi.

One research Fellow is awarde Ph.D. degree and one Fellow is on the verge of completion. Two Fellows have recently joined in the current research work of our faculty members as a research associates.
