National Law University, Jodhpur (Mandore) is an institute in India which provides Legal Education.It was set up in November 1999 (National Law University Act,1999) under the leadership of Dr. N.L. Mitra. By the statute (National University Act,1999), the ex-officio Chancellor of this University is The Chief Justice of Rajasthan High Court. The present Vice-Chancellor of this University is Justice N.N. Mathur, a former judge of the Rajasthan High Court. Based in Jodhpur (Judicial capital of Rajasthan), it provides a unique atmosphere for learning and research. [2] The institute offers undergraduate and post-graduate courses in various facades of law. The University shall develop 12 schools in the course of time. These are: * School of Governance. * School of Oriental & Occidental Jurisprudence. * School of Languages. * School of Social Sciences. * School of Science & Forensic Science. * School of International Legal Studies. * School of Business Law. * School of Management Studies. * School of Criminal Justice. * School of Judicial Administration. * School of Law & Economics and School of Agricultural Law National Law University is a Third Generation Experiment in Legal Education. It converges legal knowledge with other skills which no other university in India is presently experimenting. Here law is connected with many other subjects like economics, science, management and finance. It is a bold and complete synthetic experiment for integrated legal education and research. The high standards that it sets in has already established this university as one of the best among all National Institutions in the country even before the first batch has to come out of the University. The residential University is an example of autonomy and accountability well equipped with state-of-art infrastructure. Moreover, it offers Honours courses, which enables the students after 3 years of study to choose the subject in which they want to concentrate upon. Many Honours courses such as IPR, World Trade Law, Corporate Law etc are offered. Thus, it is truly called a third generation experiment. The University Moot Court Competitions at various levels. The University organizes prestigious M.M. Singhvi Bar Council of India Moot Court Competition [5] and Stetson Environmental Law Moot Court Competition. Also Intra as well as Inter Batch Moot Court Exercises are conducted on a regular basis which gives the students a view of Real Court Scenario. National Law University provides 24/7 Internet access to its every student. it has subscribed various Online Law Libraries like Westlaw and Manupatra which makes the cases and research material available on the fingertips of the student. It has Wireless Networking in the form of 802.11g Wi-Fi available in the Academic Block with internet speed of 2 Mbit/s, Library Building and Mess. Besides this 100 Mbit/s with internet speed of 2 Mbit/s from 8AM to 5Pm and 4 Mbit/s from 5Pm to 8AM. Ethernet Wiring is provided in every hostel room. This enables the faculty teachers to share study resources in the internet also. All this has been possible due to hardwork put in by the Infotech Committee. The University has organized various workshops and conferences particularly in the context of challenges faced in administering Legal Education, Human Rights Enforcement and Indian Society. University organizes various Guest Lectures and Study Circles. It conducts various Debating, Quizzing, Essay competitions and various Cultural and Literary Activities.
