The National Dairy Research Institute (NDRI) is a premier research institute in Dairying dedicated to the cause of dairy development in India. The scientific credibility, development of human resources and transfer of technologies have been the hall-mark of institute programmes and activities. The institute catalyses close inter-action among scientists, farmers and dairy industry in such a way that each paves way for the other efficaciously. NDRI is fully supported by Indian Council of Agricultural Research and functions as a one of the National Institutes under its aegis.
The key objectives are (a)study on Dairy productions,(b)Studies on milk and its processing,(c)studies on Dairy Economics, Management and Extension (d)Dairy Education (e)Training demonstration and consultancy services and (f)Collaboration with National and International Research & Training institution in dairying and allied fields. The Contributions of the NDRI in conducting, collecting and co-ordinating research in Dairying have received world wide recognition.
