Master of Technology in Aeronautical Engineering (M.Tech.Aeronautical Engineering), is a two years postgraduate Mechanical Engineering degree level course of study in India. The study deals with high-tech engineering and innovation of physical science and mathematics to perform research, development, testing, launching and manufacturing of various air vehicles.
The aim of the high-tech engineering study program is to develop new technology in the field of aviation, space exploration and defence system. The study emphasized on the theoretical and practical aspects of Aeronautical Engineering such as Designing, Construction, Development, Testing, Operation and Maintenance of Air Vehicles like Military Aircraft, Spacecraft, Commercial Aircraft, Satellites and Missiles.
The course of study is suitable for those candidates wants to increase their knowledge for accelerating their career by exploring and acquire a critical understanding of Aeronautical Engineering. The course of study is designed to provide in-depth knowledge, information, techniques and about the activities associated with high-tech engineering, in a comprehensive manner. The study is focused on theoretical and practical aspects and principles techniques in an academic discipline such as Applied mathematics, Aerodynamics & Flight Mechanics, solid Mechanics, Computational Fluid Dynamics & wind Tunnel Testing, High-Speed Aerodynamics, Aircraft System, Aerospace Propulsion, Aircraft Navigation System, Helicopter Aerodynamics, Production Planning, Control, Quality Management and Assurance, Aircraft Materials & Manufacturing process.
The candidate has to complete Bachelor Degree such as Bachelor of Engineering in Aeronautics (BE.Aeronetics), Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech) or equivalent examination, with minimum aggregate 60% marks, such candidates are eligible to take admission in Master’s degree study program.
This course requires study requires 2 years of the time period in India, It’s a Full Time professional degree course, but some candidates use part time, correspondence education program and also go for distance learning, study option to earn this degree.
After the successful completion of this course, candidates can also pursue the higher studies and do Ph.D. (Doctorate in Aeronautical Engineering), and specialization or research oriented work in their respective field.
The Master degree holder have excellent career opportunities in Colleges & Universities also in Public and Private Airlines such as Indian Airline Helicopter Corporation of India, Aircraft manufacturing Unit, Hindustan Aeronautics Ltd, Defence Research, National Aeronautical Lab, Civil Aviation Department, etc.
After the successful completion of the course, one can be recognised as Aeronautical Engineer and able to work as Professor, Lecturer, Senior System Engineer, Engineering Personnel, Human Resource Support Executive, Senior Researcher, Junior Research Fellow, Instructor, Supervisor, etc.
