Eligiblity:

50% of the seats in M.Sc.(Chemistry) shall be filled up by candidates who have passed B.Sc. Examination with Chemistry, Mathematics and one other subject at the B.Sc. level, with minimum 50% marks in aggregate.

Course Details:

The Master of Science in Physical Chemistry (M.Sc.Physical Chemistry), is a two years Postgraduate chemistry academic degree course in India. The Science of Matter is also known as physics, The master study is designed to provide the fundamental approach, chemistry is more specialized, being concerned with the composition, behaviour, structure and properties of matter, as well as the changes it undergoes during chemical reactions.
The course is suitable for those candidates wants to increase their knowledge for accelerating their career by exploring and acquire a critical understanding of Physical Chemistry.The course is designed to provide in-depth knowledge and information about chemistry system.

The master study develops the skills to analyse and diagnose chemical reaction to provide a proper solution, developing hypotheses and designing experiments and candidates are also to use judgment, decision-making and questioning skills, the ability to identify, select, organize, time management, communication information and data.

The study is focused on theoretical and practical aspects of Principles and Techniques in an academic discipline such as Inorganic Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, Organic Synthetic Method, Chemistry of Material, Nuclear & Radiochemistry, Advanced Quantum Chemistry and Photochemistry, Macromolecules, Physical Chemistry thesis and Projects.

Eligibility

The candidate has to complete Bachelor Degree like Bachelor of Science (B.Sc), or any Bachelor Degree with relevant subjects like Physics and chemistry, or equivalent examination, with minimum aggregate 55% marks, such candidates are eligible to take admission in Master’s Degree Course.

Course Duration / Learning Mode

This course requires study 2 years of the time period in India, It’s a Full-Time degree course, but some candidates use part time, correspondence education program and also go for distance learning study option to earn this degree.

Further Study

After the successful completion of master’s degree course, candidates can pursue for, M.Phil (Physical Chemistry), Ph.D. (Physical Chemistry) or do specialisation and research oriented work in their respective field.
