Master of Science in Inorganic Chemistry (M.Sc.Inorganic Chemistry), is a two years postgraduate academic chemistry course in India. The study is designed to provide basic and in-depth knowledge of the synthesis and behaviour of inorganic and organic metallic compounds. The study is applicable in various aspects of the chemical industry, catalysis, materials science, pigments, surfactants, coatings, medicine, fuel and agriculture.
The master’s study focused on the scientific elements and their compounds synthesis of non-carbon molecules, their bonding, conductivity and reaction properties, research techniques such as spectroscopy and photoelectron analysis, specific compounds, like transition metals and compounds composed of inorganic and organic molecules.
The course is suitable for those candidates wants to increase their knowledge for accelerating their career by exploring and acquire a critical understanding of Inorganic Chemistry. The course is designed to provide in-depth knowledge and information about chemistry system.
The master study develops the skills to analyse and diagnose chemical reaction to provide a proper solution, developing hypotheses and designing experiments and candidates are also to use judgment, decision-making and questioning skills, the ability to identify, select, organize, time management, communication information and data.
The study is focused on theoretical and practical aspects of Principles and Techniques in an academic discipline such as Fundamental of Analytical Chemistry, Coordination and Nuclear Chemistry, Stereochemistry and Organic Reaction Mechanism, Physical Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, Analytical Instrumentation Structure and Bonding, organic Reaction Mechanism, Inorganic Chemistry, Biological Chemistry, Photochemistry, Organometallic Chemistry, Transition Metal Chemistry, Electrochemistry.
The candidate has to complete Bachelor Degree like Bachelor of Science (B.Sc), or any Bachelor Degree with relevant subjects like chemistry and Biology, or equivalent examination, with minimum aggregate 55% marks, such candidates are eligible to take admission in Master’s Degree Course.
This course requires study 2 years of the time period in India, It’s a Full-Time degree course, but some candidates use part time, correspondence education program and also go for distance learning study option to earn this degree.
After the successful completion of master’s degree course, candidates can pursue for, M.Phil (Inorganic Chemistry), Ph.D. (Inorganic Chemistry) or do specialisation and research oriented work in their respective field.
