Master of Arts in Yoga (M.A.Yoga) is a two years postgraduate yoga degree course in India.The aim of the study program is to develop candidates who are able to give yoga therapy to the patients who are suffering from various kinds of psychosomatic disorders.
Yoga treatment emphasis on the physical mental and spiritual condition of the patients along with all modern facilities of treatment available in the hospital and therapy center.
The course is suitable for those candidates to have interested in increases muscle strength, flexibility and tone, promotes weight loss or a reduction in body fat, alleviates stress, anxiety and depression, boosts energy, enhance sleep, heightens concentration, reduces blood pressure, improve circulation system, strengthens the immune system.
The course is also suitable for those candidates wants to increase their knowledge for accelerating their career by exploring and acquire a critical understanding of Yoga and Meditation.The course is designed to provide in-depth knowledge and information and techniques about the yoga, The study is focused on theoretical and practical aspects and Principles Techniques in an academic discipline such as Basic Philosophy of Yoga, Basic Sanskrit, Basic Human Anatomy and Physiology, Basic Psychological Processes, Consciousness & Yoga, Health & Yoga, Research Methodology & Statistics, Application of Yoga, Patanjali Yoga Sutras and Shad Darshanas, Case Study.
The candidate has to complete Bachelor's Degree like Bachelor of Arts (BA), or any other Bachelor’s Degree with relevant subjects like,Yoga and Meditation or equivalent examination, with minimum aggregate 50% marks, such candidates are eligible to take admission in Master of Arts in Yoga Studies program.
The master’s study requires 2 years of the time period with an internship in India, It’s a Full Time professional degree course. The course is not available for part-time and under distance education mode as it's a practical based study.
After the successful completion of this course, candidates can also pursue the higher studies and do Ph.D (Doctorate in Yoga), and specialization or research oriented work in their respective field.
The Master degree holder have excellent career opportunities in the field Yoga & Meditation, Ayurveda and Naturopathy, Colleges & Universities and also in Hospital & Rehabilitation Centers.
After the successful completion of the Master's study program one can recognize as Yoga Therapy Instructor / Yoga Trainer and able to work as, Fitness Center (Manager Cum Instructor), Therapist (Naturopathy Hospital & Health Clubs), Consultant Yoga Therapist, Panchakarma Therapist, Clinical Psychologist, Professor, Lecturer, Fitness Trainer, etc.
