Master of Arts (MA Physical Education)

Eligiblity:

Candidate should have passed the Bachelor's degree (after 10+2) offered by a recognised university.

Course Details:

The Master of Physical Education (M.P.Ed) is a two years postgraduate academic physical education degree course in India. The study includes practical skill proficiency in athletics sports and officiating in major gums from each sports.

The aim of master's study program is to develop knowledge & skills of physical education with patience, perseverance and a sporting spirit to excel in sports and or related activities and also business skills in allied areas of physical education.

The vision of the Exercise Science Teacher Preparation Program is to prepare candidates initial and advanced professionals who are committed to both lifelong teaching and learning and to the continuous improvement of the educational system in which they work.

The Master’s Program is offered through the Division of Science and Physical Education and combines liberal arts learning with teacher preparation.The study is focused on theoretical and practical aspects of Principles and Techniques in an academic discipline such as Sports Biomechanics, Research Methodology, Exercise Physiology & Applied Kinesiology, Computer Application in Physical Education and Sports, Evaluation & Organisation of Physical Education, Organisation & Management of Physical Education in School, Organisation & Management of Sports & Games, Psychology, Physiology, Statistics and Physical Education.

Eligibility

The candidate have to complete Bachelor Degree like, Bachelor in Physical Education (B.P.Ed) or equivalent examination,with minimum aggregate 55% marks, such candidates are eligible to take admission in Master’s Degree professional study program.

Course Duration / Learning Mode

This course requires study requires 2 years of time period with internship in India. The study is based on practical aspects of Physical Education. It’s a Full Time professional degree course, but some candidates use part time, correspondence education program and also go for distance learning study option to earn this degree.

Further Studies

After the successful completion of this course, candidates can also pursue the higher studies and do M.Phil (Physical Education), Ph.D (Doctorate in Physical Education), or research oriented work in their respective field.

Career Options

The Physical Education degree holder recognizes as Physiotherapist or Physical Trainer and able to set their own Fitness Center. After the successful completion, of course, candidates have excellent career opportunities in government and Private Sectors like Nationalized Bank, Civil Services, Defence, Consultancies, Sports Research and Development Agencies, Sports Journalism, Sports Equipment Industries, Sports Team.
