Bachelor of Physical Education (BPEd)

Eligiblity:

Students should have passed HSC (10+2) from recognized university, Education Board. The candidates have to passed their Higher Secondary (10+2) Education with any Stream, they are eligible to take admission in Bachelor of Physical Education (B.P.Ed) program in India.

Course Details:

Bachelor of Physical Education (BPEd) - Some Indian Institutes offer a 1 year B.P.Ed. which can be pursued only after graduation. While some Institutes offer a 3 years of B.P.E. which requires 10+2 as eligibility criteria.Active living, health promotion, fitness testing, exercise physiology, sport performance – welcome to the wide world of the physical educator. Study biomechanics, physiology, anatomy, sociology – learn the art of coaching, the science of the human body; help others surmount barriers to good health through every aspect of movement.

Bachelor of Physical Education (B.P.Ed) is an undergraduate professional course in India, dealing with the development and care for the human body. The course is design with the special focus on the aspect of theory, practical and respective Assessment. The aim of study program is to improve the standard of Games and Sports in country, it is both desirable and necessary that special attention given to the practical aspects of Athletic and Sports like Football, Basketball, Badminton, Volleyball, Cricket, Hockey, Kho-Kho, Softball, Yoga Asanas, Gymnastics and Swimming, etc.

The bachelor degree course requires 4 years of time period in India. It's a full time study program, but some institutes also provides part time and distance learning option in certain criteria.

Further Studies :
Candidates who have completed bachelor course can go for Higher Physical Education, Major Education in (Masters of Physical Education), Post Graduate Diploma in Health and Fitness Management (PGDFM) and M. Phil.

Career Option in Government Sector

Degree holder have an opportunity to get employed in government sector. The Government recruits meritorious sports persons directly to Group ‘C’ and ‘D’ posts if they fulfill the requisite educational qualifications and they can work in, Nationalised Banks, Public Sector Undertaking and some private Groups also recruit Sports Persons.

Degree holder have an ample career opportunities in field like : Sports and Business Marketing, Sports Journalism, Fitness Centre, Sports Equipment Industries, Colleges, Private Schools, Hotel Industries, Sports Teams.

Job Designation

After the successful completion of course candidates can become Trainer, Instructor, Coach and also work as, Goods manufactures marketing Executive, Commentator, Sports Administration, Physical Education Instructors, Sports Journalist, Professional Player, Sports and Leisure Club Manager, Administrative and Sports Duties, Sports PhotoJournalist, etc.
