Master of Arts in Modern Indian History (M.A.Modern Indian History), is a two years Postgraduate academic degree course in India. The study provides knowledge of Indian History and Archaeology of Indian subcontinent including the culture, institutions, antiquities, ideas and concepts through ages from prehistoric period.
The course is suitable for those candidates wants to increase their knowledge for accelerating their career by exploring and acquire a critical understanding of Modern Indian History.The course is designed to provide in-depth knowledge and information about Arts and Culture of Indian History.

The master study required some quality such as hard worker, have teamwork spirit, self - dependent. The course is suitable for those candidates having an interest in Indian History and want to search something new Information of next generation with their innovative tools.

The study is focused on theoretical and practical aspects of Principles and Techniques in an academic discipline such as History of India, State of India, Palaeography and Epigraphy, Historiography Concept and Method, Social & Economic System and Institutions, Religions and Philosophical Ideas, Numismatics, Prehistoric India, Principle and Methods of Field Archaeology, History of Indian Sculptures and Paintings, Early Historical Archaeology, Indian Temples Architecture, Proto - History India, Indian Art and Iconography.


The candidate has to complete Bachelor Degree like Bachelor of Arts (BA), or any Bachelor Degree with relevant subjects, or equivalent examination, with minimum aggregate 55% marks, such candidates are eligible to take admission in Master’s Degree Course.

Course Duration / Learning Mode

This course requires study requires 2 years of the time period in India, It’s a Full Time professional degree course, but some candidates use part time, correspondence education program and also go for distance learning study option to earn this degree.

Further Study

After the successful completion of master’s degree course, candidates can pursue for, M.Phil (Modern Indian History), Ph.D. (Modern Indian History) or do specialisation and research oriented work in their respective field.
