The academic year 2015-16 has been a momentous and significant landmark in the journey of Mount Everest College. The National Assessment and Accreditation Council NAAC — an autonomous institution set up by the University Grants Commission UGC to focus on quality in higher educational institutions — in its evaluation, awarded MEC a score of 3.61, one of the highest amongst Manipur University Colleges so far. Adding to this moment of immense pride, were several nation-wide media surveys of colleges which once again placed MEC amongst the top academic institutions — the India Today-Nielsen Survey ranked MEC first in Arts and B. El. Ed. streams and second in Commerce. Two other surveys — The Week-Hansa Survey and Careers 360 Survey — have ranked MEC College as the best Arts College of in Manipur.
