About Patpanhale Education Societys College Of Arts And Commerce Science, Ratnagiri

Patpanhale Education Society, Patpanhale, Tal. Guhagar, Dist. Ratnagiri M.S. established in the year 1962, took permission from the Government of Maharashtra to start its Patpanhale Arts, Commerce and Science College in the year 1992. The college is located at Patpanhale- Shringartali, Tal. Guhagar, Dist. Ratnagiri (M.S.). It is affiliated to the University of Mumbai. Initially the management started its Arts Programme and latter on Commerce Programme with nine academic departments (Marathi, Foundation Course, English, Political Science, Rural Development, History, Economics, Commerce and Accountancy). Almost all students are from rural areas and around 50% of them are from socially backward and downtrodden sections of the society. Girl students are around 55%. It is a common feature of the parents and the students that after passing 12th standard examination, students either go to Mumbai for jobs or discontinue their education. The management and the staff of the college have been taking very hard and sincere efforts to attract them for getting higher education. Consequently, we achieved a lot in this direction. We work always in the direction towards our vision, mission, objectives and values set for enhancement of quality education.

In the long way of advancement, the college has attained certain landmark achievements such as assessed and accredited by the NAAC, Bangalore with C++ grade in the year 2004, getting permanent affiliation from University of Mumbai in 2007-08, enlisting the college under sections 2(f) and 12B of the UGC Act and then assessed and accredited by the NAAC with B Grade in December 2013. The college has arranged a number of activities for the upliftment of students and the staff. It has also started Post Graduate Programme (M.Com. in Business Management) in the year 2016. The college has also started a centre of Open University with 250 students from educationally deprived sections of the society. The college has about 37 Cells and Associations for the development of the students. A number of faculty members are pursuing research work leading to Ph.D. Degree. The teachers have undertaken several research projects funded by University of Mumbai. The management has initiated the construction work of new building for the college and it is now in the final stage of completion. In all our endevours, Hon. Shri. Bhalchandra Raghunath Chavan, President, Patpanhale Education Society, played a vital role and because of him and our consistent efforts towards academic, co-curricular and extra-curricular, Sports, N.S.S. and other activities of cells and associations, created a concrete way for sustainable development of the students of this vicinity.
