National Centre of Rural Development (NCRD) is a registered public charitable trust which was founded in 1991. During the course of its various activities aimed at the upliftment of rural youth, NCRD realized that true rural development was not possible without the basic education for the rural folk. With this view in mind, in the year 1993 it established schools in Ambegaon taluka, Pune district, which was then a very backward area.
This educational voyage has continued and now the Trust has to its credit two primary schools, six high schools, three agricultural and vocational institutes and Seven colleges. In the year 2003-2004, NCRD further widened its educational activities and established the Sterling Institute of Pharmacy and Sterling Institute of Management .Later it also started the Sterling Institute of Education.In the coming years NCRD will continue to strive for excellence in education in its various schools and colleges.
