People’s College. Nanded is run by Nanded Education Society, a Public Trust established in 1950 under the Mumbai public trust Act By Swami Ramanand Teerth a visionary freedom fighter, a Sanyaasi with a difference having adopted the karma yoga by renouncing the Worldly possessions and attraction. After liberating the Hyderabad State on 17th September 1948, he embarked the another mission the liberation of the people from ignorance, from Exploitation, from poverty communal hatred and from all types of Dependence he was of the opinion that education is the panacea On all evils The establishments of people’s College at Nanded was The part of this Mission. Similarly it was also the part of sharing the Task of nation building started By lokmany Tilak and mahatma Gandhi by giving call to open education institution To impart The National Education. He himself was educated (M.A.) at Tilak Maharastra Vidyapeeth, an institution imparting National Education in Pune. Swamiji wanted his college to be at the Forefront of this movement and serve the cause of the upliftment ofThe common people. Hence, he namede his college as People’s College i.e. which is self expressive of the Commitment to the people.
