    JDBIMS is a part of the bold initiative taken by the SNDT Women's University in the field of professional education for women.
    JDBIMS is named after Smt. Jankidevi Bajaj, a distinguished representative of Indian womanhood who worked for the awakening and emancipation of women. She was a revolutionary social worker in a tradition bound society and is a perfect example of karma yogini. We feel proud that our Institute is named after her.
    The institute tries to blend traditional Indian culture and value systems with modern management theories and practices to prepare global managers for the future. *JBIMS* seeks to provide much needed training to a growing number of women managers who are increasingly coming to the forefront of global business.
    At JDBIMS we have a very close interaction with the industry, particularly in the field of curriculum development, teaching, research, testing, evaluation, faculty training and management development. The Institute offers a variety of professional courses at Masters Level and post graduate Diplomas that are specifically designed to enhance the employment of women.

    Broad Objectives

    The objective of the programme is to provide participants with the opportunity to pursue a career in industry and to acquire knowledge, skills and attitudes that give a strong foundation for their growth to hold competent and responsible executive positions. The curriculum has been designed to enable the participants to develop a thorough knowledge of the basic concepts and techniques of modern Management. Further, it aims to develop their analytical, decision-making and managerial skills.

    Two years, full time - Four semesters
    First and Third Semester - July to December
    Second and Fourth Semester - January to May

    Eligibility

    Women graduates from any University who have passed Maharashtra State Common Entrance Test (CET) examination.

    Selection Procedure

    The students have to appear for the CET followed by Group Discussions and Interviews. The aggregate score for these is considered for admission in MMS course.

    Attendance

    The students are required to have 75% of attendance in each subject, failing which they will not be allowed to appear for the final examination of the semester. In case the absence is due to illness, medical certificate will have to be produced immediately for consideration.

    Fees
    Fees will be charged according to the notifications of the Government of Maharashtra.
    Candidates wishing to take specialization in Systems in the Second Year of the M.M.S. Programme will have to pay an additional fee of Rs. 7,000 in second year of the M.M.S. Programme.

    Research Project

    Each student is required to select a research topic and work under the guidance of a mentor from the middle of the second semester.     Summer Project
    At the end of the second semester, each student would be required to undertake a project. On the basis of the work done, the candidate will be required to submit a report to the institute. A panel of examiners would evaluate the project work. The project carries 100 marks.

Today, under one roof, you can find everything you want and in a very short period of time, the mall culture had spread.

    In the coming years, the retail industry will be booming after sector like agriculture, IT, textile and tourism. With the boom in the retail industry, the demand for professionals for this industry has also gone up. Malls and big stores have revolutionized the whole retail sector, as it is now more organized and efficient. The revolution is not only limited to metros but had shifted to small towns and one can find stores like Big Bazar and Shopper’s Stop in these small towns.

    In this scenario, the demand for a retail manager is going to be phenomenal and a career in retail is going to be a lucrative one. Apart from manager, one can also opt for positions like inventory manager, shopping operational manager, floor manager and customer service. The options don’t end here and there are also opportunities in human resources, finance and system management. In fact, according to an estimate, the retail sector will soon become one of the maj or employers.

    A combination of big brands and corporate names in the retail industry are opening their outlets in smaller towns. Though graduates from any field can enter the retail sector, but preference is given to one who has done a specialized course in the field. MBA or equivalent degree holders or people doing a retail management postgraduation course, can make a career for themselves in this sector.
