Institute of Civil & Rural Engineering has been imparting outstanding quality education in and around Maharashtra. Because of its pomp and splendor of over fifty years, people respectfully bow their heads to this, ‘temple of learning’

The strength and growth of our nation depends on the liability of our rural sector to absorb engineering and technology through a set of specially moduled innovations and technical endeavours.

Gargoti is a picturesque town surrounded by hills; 50 kms. away from Kolhapur. Shri Mouni Vidyapeeth is an educational complex having 19 institutions imparting education from Primary level to Ph.D. level. It is established in 1946 with the aim of rural reconstruction through education. Campus is spread over 65 acres with residential accommodation for staff and students. More than 10,000 students are taking education in different institutions.

Institute of Civil & Rural Engg. (I.C.R.E.) is aided polytechnic which is affiliated to Directorate of Technical Education and Board of Technical Education (A.I.C.T.E.) vide letter numbers * F. No. 740-89-067 (E) / RC / 95 dated 15-11 -2000.

Since 1957 (over 49 years) thousands of students have completed their diploma courses in Engg. & Technology from I.C.R.E. and they are spread all over the nation in different sections. While serving the nation the alumni has brought credit to the institution and the institute is also proud of them.

The onlash of electronics era, advanced & innovative ways of doing things necessitated the establishment of computer centre and the institute rightly did it by opening computer centre in 1991. The demand of industry for technicians from this field also forced the Institute to start the diploma course in this discipline. So under W. B. P. Scheme. Computer Engineering Diploma Course was started during the academic year 1994-95.

At present well established three computer centres are in existence with more than 150 terminals including PCs, XTs, ATs, Network and Pentiums with the facilities of plotters, AutoCAD, Windows, Laser Printers, Colour Printers etc. The department is competent enough to train the personnel from Industries, Banks, Colleges etc. & various consultancy are undertaken. Our Institute is now connected to Internet from May 1999.
