College of Fine Arts, Aurangabad was established in the year 2002,
The College was established in July 2002, with sole objectives (1) to create an additional avenue of self-employment for students and also to benefit the cultural arena by providing it with trained personnels in the field of Art, (2) qualify students to face the new challenges of globalization and (3) to provide facilities for the creative talent for specialized professional training opportunities in the field of visual art.
During the last couple of years, the college established its reputation one of the flourishing training schools in the field of art, drawing painting, sculpture. The college has undergone many changes from its inception to present times.
Campus & Infrastructure:
The college is housed in a well furnished and specious accommodation. There are class-rooms, library, reading room, principal’s office, college office and so on. The library has a specialized collection on history of art, print making, aesthetics, outdoor sketching, foundation of Indian philosophy, drawing from life, painting from life, portrait painting, Rabindranath Tagore, and other contemporary artists’ contribution to Indian art and so on including reference section. The reading room provides all leading newspapers and magazines for the students
The college is having an Art Gallery at MGM Campus. The facilities like conference hall, computer facilities etc. are adequately available. Further MGM also provided hostel facility for girls and boys at a walkable distance from the college.Within a short span of five years the college organized number of programs for the benefit of students.The “Rang Rekha” a representative body of the students, is constituted by the college, which is devoted to educational, cultural and sports activities. Under its aegis, we organized lectures by experts, demonstrations, exhibitions, film shows, seminars and sports activities for the proper development of students’ personality.
The college organized Annual Painting Exhibition on 3rd March, 2004, in which the college students presented their paintings. The exhibition was organized in the MGM Art Gallery. It was inaugurated at the auspicious hands of Shri A.N.Kadam and Prof. Umakant Salunke. The said exhibition was witnessed by number of persons and the response was good.
The college organized second Annual Painting Exhibition in the month of Sept, 2005, The theme of the exhibition was “Manson show”. The said exhibition was organized at Tapadiya Art Gallery, which was inaugurated by Hon’ble Shri A.N.Kadam, by opening a fully painted umbrella. This paintings exhibited in the gallery were appreciated by the public at large.
The third Annual Art Exhibition was organized in March 2006, at the MGM Art Gallery, where students actively participated and presented their paintings. The exhibition was inaugurated by Shri Vijay Kulkarni, Dr. Bramhanand Deshpande guided and encouraged the students when Mr. Kadam A.N. welcomed the guests.
On the occasion of Independence Day, in 2006, the college in collaboration with Camlin organized a painting competition by giving the theme as 15th August. More than 40 students participated in the competition. The painting of the students were appreciated by one and all.
Similarly even on Republic Day celebrations, on 26th January, 2006, the college organized painting competition on the theme of nature, sculpture, instillation art etc. Large number of students participated in the competition and the response was appreciable.
