Engineering Study as a discipline is growing by leaps and bounds throughout the country. The trend is well indicated in the State of Kerala. The pace of infrastructure growth and industrialisation has given tremendous impetus to this branch as a prospective career. The concept of engineering education has also undergone a sea change. With only about 18 branches of study in early 90’s the discipline today has about 92 major branches of study. The wide-spectrum diversification of study also has introduced a large number of inter-disciplinary branches Royal College of Engineering & Technology is an NRI venture in the field of Technical Education. It has the VISION of developing it is a Centre of Excellence and an Institution of International standards. It also aims at developing the students as full-fledged professionals to take up any challenging assignments in the changing scenario of the global market.

Royal Engineering College aims at training professionals of high standard with moral caliber. The rules and regulations are framed so as to train them for reaching the goals for which the institution was started. It aims at ensuring harmonious, friendly living among students of various states inculcating self discipline. The hostels should serve as a training ground for a responsible, successful and useful life through development of the body, mind and soul.The Royal College Central Library is built to International Standards and spreads over a large area. It is centrally big, well-protected and 3M-book security system. Specialised collections of Books, Journals & Non-book materials are available in Basic Sciences, Engineering and Technology, Humanities and Social Sciences. The Royal College Central Library is replete with10000 copies of standard books .

Popularly known as NSS, the scheme was launched in Gandhiji's Centenary year, 1969. Aimedat developing student's personality through community service. NSS, is a voluntary association of young people in Colleges, Universities and at +2 level working for a campus-community linkage
The cardinal principle of the NSS programme is that it is organised by the students themselves, and both students and teachers through their combined participation in community service.
