Kozhikode, also known as Calicut, is a city in the state of Kerala. Average literacy rate of Kozhikode in 2011 were 95.08 compared to 92.24 of 2001. If things are looked out at gender wise, male and female literacy were 97.42 and 92.99 respectively. The city has many colleges that offer students graduate and postgraduate level courses in many disciplines. They also offer diploma and other certification courses. A few of the streams where the courses are offered encompass Arts, Science, Law, Management, Nursing etc. In Kozhikode, the majority of the colleges have an affiliation towards the prestigious University of Calicut, Cochin University of Science and Technology and Bharathiar University (Kozhikode).
