Admission Notices

Rajagiri Educational Campus, located on the picturesque hillock called Rajagiri (hill of the King), at Kalamassery in Cochin, Kerala, was established in 1955, by the Carmelites of Mary Immaculate (CMI Fathers), the largest indigenous Christian religious congregation for men in India. The CMIs drawing inspiration from their founding father Blessed Chavara, a great visionary and religious leader of the 19th century, have proved themselves worthy of that heritage in the field of education by establishing institutions of quality education, across the length and breadth of the state, and in various parts of India. At present, they have a network of 150 schools, 9 affiliated university colleges (training about 25,000 youngsters) and 8 technical institutes, functioning under 13 provinces, spread all over the country.

The Rajagiri Educational Institutions were established by the Sacred Heart Province of the Carmelites of Mary Immaculate (C.M.I.), a Christian congregation known the world over for their contribution to the field of education. The C.M.I. congregation was founded by Blessed Fr. Kuriakose Elias Chavara in the 19th century and the C.M.I. fathers currently manage over 170 educational institutions -- which include schools, colleges, polytechnics, engineering and management institutes. The C.M.I.’s, drawing inspiration from their founding father, have proved themselves worthy of their heritage in the field of education. Rajagiri is proud of its two self contained Kochi campuses – one at Kalamassery and the other one at Kakkanad. The campuses provide an atmosphere conducive to academic pursuits.

Since the beginning, the C.M.I.s have strived to impart a quality of education that matches international levels of excellence. As a result, Rajagiri has been successful in branching out to the corners of the world, thus emerging as a dominant force internationally in the field of education. The C.M.I.s with their abundant resources have a dominant presence in several countries, resulting in international levels of excellence in education and holistic learning.

Collaboration is the spirit underlying the concept of Rajagiri, internationalism being the very essence of it all. Establishing vibrant academic tie-ups with leading universities all over the world have not only served to expose students to international economies, but also facilitated the sharing of resources for faculty training, curriculum development, research and consultancy.

The Rajagiri School of Social Work collaborates with many universities around the world including Institute of St. Francis Xavier University, Canada, Boston University, USA, University of Illinois, USA, Katholieke University of Nijmegen, Holland, Michigan State University, USA and Tel Aviv University, Israel for teaching, training, field practice and research in Social Work. Teachers, students and practicing social workers from these universities visit Rajagiri Campus and interact with the community. The visiting International Scholar Programme at the School of Social Work caters to the requirements of international scholars. The Rajagiri School of Management also has a student exchange programme with North Texas University.

With the rapidly growing number of foreign collaborations, the Rajagiri International School for Education and Research (RISER) was established in 1998, to deal exclusively with international collaborations and joint degree programmes. Some of the most important ventures of RISER, are the joint degree programmes carried out in collaboration with leading foreign universities ("twinning" degree programmes). These programmes were instituted to facilitate the integration of different cultures, perspectives and insights thus proving instrumental in molding and preparing every member of the Rajagiri family for the globalized era. As a result of the undying efforts of the C.M.I. Fathers, RISER has succeeded in achieving a superior quality globally in the field of education.

The RISER campus is located in Rajagiri Valley, on the banks of Chitrapuzha River at Kakkanad, Kochi, Kerala. The campus is about 10 km from the Ernakulam Railway Station and 22 km from the Cochin International Airport.
