The Department was established in 1957. Since then it has grown in terms of infrastructure and competent faculty. The course contents have kept pace with the new trends of critical thought in the academic field and the staff has kept themselves abreast of the shifting priorities in the field of world literature. Recently the department completed 50 years of fruitful existence.
