Katras College, Katrasgarh was established in 1964 by a group of enthusiastic social workers with the active support of the prominent citizens of the area. Shri R.P Tewari became the first Prof.-In-charge of the college and Sri Manindra Nath Singh, Head Clerk, admitted the first student in Pre-University Course 1964-65. The college began to develop fast it was granted affiliation by the Senate of Ranchi University, Ranchi in 1969-70.
