It was established in 2008 under Section 3 of the UGC Act 1956 and is part of JSS Mahavidyapeetha, which runs a variety of educational institutions. This deemed-to-be university is recognized by MHRD and accredited by NAAC with A Grade. The University has been focusing more on teaching, research and service, from its inception. Under the leadership and gracious Patronage and blessings of His Holiness Jagadguru Sri Shivarathri Deshikendra Mahaswamiji , the Chancellor of JSS Academy of Higher Education & Research and Vice Chancellor, Dr.B.Suresh, a noted multifaceted leader of repute, the University has made great progress in grooming graduates, postgraduates, and PhD researchers by providing effective value based education across our institutions by focusing on overall development of an individual through state-of-art facilities to make the learner a useful citizen to the society. JSS Mahavidyapeetha is the primary body under which approximately 200-250 educational institutions have blossomed in a span of almost 60 years. These educational institutions include orphanages, old age homes, child care center, vocational training centers, technical college, medical college, schools etc. The Mahavidyapeetha has been a trend setter in the field of education in the sense that it encompasses education from the primary to the doctoral level. Under the able guidance of the President, the Mahavidyapeetha has expanded its ambit to include educational institutions in the states of Kerala, Tamil Nadu and Uttar Pradesh, besides Karnataka. The JSS Mahavidyapeetha has been instrumental in fostering the kind of education which touches our social and cultural roots. Like his illustrious predecessor, Sri Sri Shivarathreeswara Deshikendra Mahaswamiji also believes that while modernization of the education process is essential, it cannot by itself build a socially strong and morally ethical society. It is because of this belief that he encourages musicians, artistes, singers and other proponents of Hindu art and culture to spread the message of love, unity and brotherhood among the students as well as among the faculties of the institutions. agadguru Sri Shivarathreeswara Mahavidyapeetha is the central body, that runs a system of over 200 educational institutions. Established by the foresight and vision of His Holiness Jagadguru Late Sri Sri Sri Dr.Shivarathri Rajendra Mahaswamiji, the 23rd pontiff of Suttur Mutt, the Vidyapeetha runs institutions from the creche level to research institutions training Doctoral Scholars. The present pontiff, His Holiness Jagadguru Sri Sri Sri Shivarathreeswara Deshikendra Mahaswamiji is the President of the J.S.S. Mahavidyapeetha. Under his able direction and blessings many High Schools, several Colleges of Arts, Science and Commerce, a Medical College, two Pharmacy Colleges, a Dental College, two Engineering Colleges, Polytechnics, Industrial Training Institutes, a Law College, etc., are progressing. The present Pontiff with vision, enthusiasm, dedication and devotion to the causes dear to his illustrious predecessors, has been the driving force informulating the policies and programs in terms of widening J.S.S. Educational Network. Aptly, J.S.S. Vidyapeetha has been endorsed by many educationists as more than a University. Several thousands of students, teachers and employees derive benefit from this Vidyapeetha. J.S.S. TECHNICAL EDUCATION SYSTEM Bangalore is considered as one of the best locations for training quality Technical Manpower as it has good infrastructure in terms of industrial base; software development facilities, etc. Thus, keeping in view the demand for Technical Manpower at the National and Global level, J.S.S.A.T.E. has been established. It may be noted that this Institution at Bangalore is managed and run by the same management, namely J.S.S. Mahavidyapeetha, that runs Sri Jayachamarajendra College of Engineering (SJCE), Mysore. The experience and expertise of JCE, Mysore would be available in establishing and running J.S.S.A.T.E. at Bangalore.
