Established in the Year 1989, Department of Graphics is engaged in teaching Under Graduate B.F.A. and Post Graduate M.F.A. programmes. The department is actively engaged in research activities through Ph. D. Programmes. Students are provided with the required freedom in shaping their ideas, while their own standpoints and artistic opinions are honed and stimulated through discussions with teachers. Special focus is on the development of students' own independent grasp of graphics with the maximum effort is made to encourage experimentation within the broader field of visual arts and its overlap with other media. The curriculum at U.G., P.G. and Ph. D. level is stressing creative and intellectual thinking and awareness of the individual.
The following branches of Printmaking given in the UGC Curriculum of National Syllabus of Printmaking are being taught here :
=> PLANOGRAPHY with reverse, color and multi-plate process.
=> INTAGLIO with Etching, Mezzotint, Aquatint, Sugar lift aquatint, Dry Point, engraving, viscosity, multi-plate process, blind print, rainbow color process, and spit bite process etc.
=> RELIEF PRINTING with Wood Cut, Linocut, Wood Engraving, and Lino Etching etc.
=> COLLOGRAPHY using different materials to create textures and forms in color.
=> MIXED MEDIA using various printing materials and mediums on particular print.
=> SERIGRAPHY with direct and indirect exposure process.
