Lakshay Institute of Education, Arki came into existence by the efforts of Lakshay Educational Society Arki and the courtesy of H.P. Government, H.P. University and NCTE Jaipur. The college started functioning from Oct. 3rd 2008., Lakshay Institute of Education, Arki is located at a distance of about 30 km from Shimla. It is about 50 km from Dharmpur on Chandigarh-Shimal road and 4 km from Shalaghat. It can be reached from most of the places by first coming to Dharmpur, Shalaghat or Kunihar as is suitable to an individual. From these places there are buses for Arki after every 15 or 20 minutes. There is regular bus service to the place from all important stations like Dharmpur, Kunihar, Shimla, Bilaspur, Mandi and Hamirpur., The college is housed in its own four storied spacious building with sufficient number of rooms comprising classrooms, laboratories, library, Assembly hall, common room administrative office, staff room and sports room., The college has a well-equipped Library with large number of standard books, both on education and on general subjects. It has a spacious reading room. College subscribes to most important magazines, journals and number of newspapers. There are encyclopedia on Education besides other reference books.
