Govt. Industrial Training Institute Palampur is one of the oldest ITI located in the State of Himachal Pradesh. This Institute was established in 1962 with one Trade of Cutting & Sewing. another trade of Embroidery & Needle Work was started.

In the year 2008, ITI Palampur was covered under PPP mode and received loan of Rs. 2.5 crore from DGE&T, Ministry of Labour & Employment, Govt. of India. In August 2008 , two new trades Fitter & Electrician with Two Units and Electronics Mechanic & Cutting & Sewing, Emb & Needle work with one units were started under Institute Management Committee for ITI Palampur, under PPP Mode.

The ITI is converted to Co-educational ITI under PPP Mode vide Govt. Notification No. EDN TEA 41/2009 dated 12-01-2010.

VISION
Realization of Glimpses of a young country India particularly in the rural Himachal Pradesh which lives in its villages ITI Palampur will excel globally and distinguish itself as a recognized pre-eminent leader to serve through its socioeconomic upliftment by exposure of the aspirants to vocational training thereby grooming them as technically competent, multiskilled personality and intellectually-vital Graduates through practically focused quality learning experiences, and thus assuring productive Careers for them & Training to Semi Skilled and un-skilled.

“Our mission is to train people to their fullest extent by putting sincere team efforts so that they can contribute in the growth of global economy”. There are lot of centers, institutions, universities in Govt. as well as in private sector throughout the country which are imparting training of different levels to the aspirants. It is a matter of pride that we live in a young country wherein there is a majority of youth and whole of the world is looking at us for assistance in every sphere of specialization.

It gives me immense pleasure that we are here to put our oblation towards the contribution to train the aspirants for making the system to compete in the world of work. I have the reason to feel pride that being the Principal of ITI Palampur, I am here with my team mates to educate, train and make the trainees a good citizen so as the trainees may be able to improve the system at their parental as well as their future home. This way by training a single candidate we are serving two objectives.

This is not only the merit of the candidate which pays him / her in the long run but him / her traits of soft skills and communication skill shall definitely make him / her the beacon.
