This Institute was started in the session of Year 2007 by Government of Himachal Pradesh, Department of Technical Education, Vocational & Industrial Training, with the aim to Provide Vocational Training to large number of rural youth and women folk of Baroh area of Kangra District. Initially the Institution was started with Two trades namely Fitter and Mech. Auto Electrical and Electronics at VPO Sarotri Teh Baroh Distt Kangra in a rented building.

This Institution began its existence in Aug. 2007 in rented building with two trades and thereafter 24th July 2015 Govt. Industrial Training Institute, Baroh’s building inaugurated by Sh. G.S Bali Hon,ble Food, Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs, Transport and Technical Education Minister. At present in this institute seven trades are running. Every student looks forward to life at the Institute campus- a second home where you can find your identity. ITI provides ample resources, facilities and most importantly, opportunities for its students to discover themselves.

The Institute has a vast campus 10679-00 in Sqmt. The campus is well-equipped with facilities that any student may require – with spacious classrooms, well equipped laboratories Workshops, Library and Information Centre, and much more is accommodated at the campus.
