This Institute was started in the year 2000 by the Department of Technical Education, Vocational & Industrial Training, Government of Himachal Pradesh with the aim to provide vocational training to large number of rural youth and women of Bilaspur District. Initially the Institution was started with two trades, Computer Operator & Programming Assistant and Welder G & E in a rented building Near Main Market at Berthin. Dress making Trade was introduced to strengthen the Institute in 2001, on the construction of Institutional’s own building the trades were shifted to new institution campus in 2010. The campus is spread in 07 Bigha of land with modern type building. Keeping in the view the demand of the industry new trades like Mechanic Electronics and Electrician were added in this institution., Vision, To provide quality education to trainee, a well equipped and good infrastructure along with well informed, motivated faculty is crucial. Areas like course curriculum, faculty development and educational infrastructure have been identified as key areas of improvement., To inculcate technological skills amongst youth to empower them for gainful employment through technical & vocational education; and to enhance productivity of formal & non-formal sector of economy by having close interaction with industry., Mission, We at Government Industrial Training Institute Berthin, District Bilaspur H.P. will impart futuristic Technical Education and install high patterns of discipline through our dedicated staff who shall get global standards, making our students technologically superior and ethically strong who in turn shall improve the quality of life of the human race.
