Department of Computer Science

Gurukula Kangri Vishwavidyalaya, Haridwar has emerged as one of the important places for Computer education in the country. The Department of Computer Science was established in 1988 with the introduction of Post Graduate Diploma in Computer Applications (PGDCA). In the same year Computer Science was introduced as a subject at the graduate level.

Research

The Department of Computer Science continues to engage in groundbreaking research since 1997, in computer science as well as its interdisciplinary areas also. The departmental faculty is involved in research in areas like Soft Computing, Image Processing, Software Engineering, Computer Networks, Cloud Computing, Artificial Intelligence, Complex Adaptive Systems, Computational Intelligence and Software Engineering. So far, 28 students have been awarded Ph. D. degree in Computer Science. A number of research scholars are pursuing their research work under the guidance of the faculty members. A few of them are the getting fellowships under various schemes for research scholars of Govt. of India.
