In this section, learn about the Bachelor of Engineering (BE Electronics & Communication Engineering) course at G H Patel College Of Engineering & Technology GCET, Vallabh Vidyanagar

Department of Electronics & Communication Engineering

The Department of Electronics & Communications created in 1997 is one of the largest and upcoming departments of G H Patel College of Engg. and Technology. Technology. This Department has given its first meritorious batch of EC graduates in July 2001; majority students of this batch are well placed through campus or have gone for higher studies. The Department has excellent laboratory facilities both for teaching and research. The Department organizes workshops, seminars in various specialties, and runs summer/winter schools for the benefit of engineering college teachers and professional engineers.

B.E Chemical Engineering - Chemical engineering is a discipline influencing numerous areas of technology. In broad terms, chemical engineers are responsible for the conception and design of processes for the purpose of production, transformation and transportation of materials. This activity begins with experimentation in the laboratory and is followed by implementation of the technology to full scale production.
Duration: 4 Years    Learning Mode: Full Time    Course Level: Bachelors Degree View Details
B.E Information Technology is generally restricted to single majors in the BE program. However, where students are enrolled in the BInfTech single major, enrolment is permitted in conjunction with the BE Electrical Eng (Extended major); Electrical & Biomedical Eng; Electrical & Computer Eng; Mechatronic Eng (Extended major). Students must obtain an approved study plan prior to enrolment in these extended majors or dual majors.Information Technology or IT as it is also known, is a broad field that deals with the design, development, implementation and management of information systems.
Duration: 4 Years    Learning Mode: Full Time    Course Level: Bachelors Degree View Details
B.E Mechanical Engineering - Mechanical engineering is one of the main engineering disciplines that include the application of laws of physics for designing, analyzing and manufacturing of mechanical systems. Mechanical engineers design and assemble engines and power plants, structures and vehicles of all sizes. Mechanical engineers must have a solid understanding of base concepts such as mechanics, kinematics, fluid mechanics and energy.
Duration: 4 Years    Learning Mode: Full Time    Course Level: Bachelors Degree View Details
Mechatronic engineering is based on elements of mechanical engineering, electrical and electronic engineering and computer science, but is a distinct discipline in its own right.Mechatronics is a design process that includes a combination of mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, telecommunications engineering, control engineering and computer engineering.Mechatronics is a multidisciplinary field of engineering, that is to say, it rejects splitting engineering into separate disciplines.
Duration: 4 Years    Learning Mode: Full Time    Course Level: Bachelors Degree View Details
B.E Computer Engineering (CE) - Computer Engineering has two major specialties: Computer Software Engineer and Computer Hardware Engineer.Computer Software Engineer develop, design and test software or construct, maintain computer networks, programs for companies. They create computer interfaces, operating systems, new programs and applications such as desktops, smartphones, tablets.Computer engineers are involved in many hardware and software aspects of computing, from the design of individual microprocessors, personal computers, and supercomputers, to circuit design.

M.E Mechanical Engineering - Mechanical engineering is a diverse subject that derives its breadth from the need to design and manufacture everything from small individual parts and devices (e.g., microscale sensors and inkjet printer nozzles) to large systems (e.g., spacecraft and machine tools). The role of a mechanical engineer is to take a product from an idea to the marketplace. In order to accomplish this, a broad range of skills are needed. The mechanical engineer needs to acquire particular skills and knowledge.
Duration: 2 Years    Learning Mode: Full Time    Course Level: Masters Degree View Details
M.E Mechatronics- Mechatronics refers to a flexible, multi-technological approach for integration of mechanical engineering, computer engineering, electronics and information sciences. Mechatronics is essential in the design of intelligent products. It allows engineers to transform their virtual concepts into real life applications. It is a relatively new concept relating to the design of systems, devices and products aimed at achieving an optimal balance between basic mechanical structure and its overall control.
