Govt. First Grade College was established in the year 1985 by the Government of Karnataka. Initially classes were taken at Govt PU College building. In the year 2006, college shifted to new building beside the Bangalore-Mysore highway, in widespread area of 3.2 acres. Now the college has 16 class rooms, spacious library with 16000 titles, computer lab with internet facility, well equipped laboratories, parking area, toilets and ladies room.

JSS College for Women, Kollegala was started on 01-08-1983 with the blessings of His HOliness Jagadguru Sri Sri Shivarathri Rajendra Swamiji,. The College is affilated to the University of Mysore. Initially the college started BA programme with 28 students. In the very next year it introdused B.Com course with 21 students. In the begining the college was functioning in Sri Bangara Shetty Choultry fron 01-08-1983 to 01-09-84. Then it was shifted to Sri Gurumalleshwara Ashrama.

Sarada Vilas College, located in the heart of the beautiful and heritage city of Mysore, was established in the year 1945 as an Intermediate college. Seven years later, it was upgraded as a Degree college. During its long and purposeful journey, it has consistently offered quality education in pure science and has produced innumerable number of graduates who have achieved success in various fields. It was accredited by NAAC in 2004 and reaccredited in 2010 with ‘B’ Grade with CGPA of 2.89.
