The West Khandesh Dalit Shikshan Prasarak Mandal is established in the year 1939 on the advice of the Late Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar the Chief Architect of the Indian Constitution. Dr. Ambedkar expressed his desire for the establishment of an educational institution, when he visited to Dhule on 4th July, 1937. As a result of this, the Mandal started one Hostel for the upliftment of Scheduled Castes in June 1939.

A well known novelist, poet and educationist Late Babasaheb K. Narkhede, along with his colleagues Late Appasaheb G. K. Patil, Late Rambhau Hambardikar, Late T. S. Zope guruji and late Pandharishet Bhangale established Shri Shivaji Shikshan Prasarak Mandal, Bhusawal in 1960. The main object was to impart quality education to the poor section of society in Bhusawal town and the neighborhood. They initiated by starting a primary school named, 'Apli Shala' meaning our school.

Initially Arts and Commerce college was established at Jamner in 1971 (affiliated to University of Poona) to provide education to under privileged masses of this rural area. Later on Science faculty was created in 1989 to enhance the scientific vision, technical approach and research oriented attitudes among the learners. In 1990 with the establishment of North Maharashtra University, Jalgaon, the college got affiliated to it.
