Located in A well known novelist, poet and educationist Late Babasaheb K. Narkhede, along with his colleagues Late Appasaheb G. K. Patil, Late Rambhau Hambardikar, Late T. S. Zope guruji and late Pandharishet Bhangale established Shri Shivaji Shikshan Prasarak Mandal, Bhusawal in 1960. The main object was to impart quality education to the poor section of society in Bhusawal town and the neighborhood. They initiated by starting a primary school named, 'Apli Shala' meaning our school. Within a very short period it became so famous that every year the admission to the school was closed within a short period. Gradually the management was compelled to increase the branches of primary school and they started a high school named 'K. Narkhede Vidyalaya from 1962. This also, within a short period, became very popular in the whole Jalgaon district and the surrounding area. In 2002, the institute started the K. Narkhede College of Science, Bhusawal. It is affiliated to the North Maharashtra University Jalgaon. Initially only computer education up to graduate level was imparted. In 2009, M.Sc. (computer science) was introduced and in 2010 general B.Sc. courses like Biochemistry, Chemistry, Botany, Zoology were introduced. A small sapling sown in 1960 has grown in to a big banyan tree. The institute now runs Pre- Primary and one primary school, with four branches, one English medium school, a well reputed High School, Higher Secondary School and a Senior College..
