It is a fairly new institute. It was established in the year 2014 for bringing about industrial and technological development to the region. It was established with just one branch of Civil Engineering with an intake of 25 seats. We have some senior and highly experienced faculty and also a few young teachers which just creates a fine blend of youth and experience. The students come from all over the state with varying cultural backgrounds.

Mehr Chand Polytechnic College was established way back in 1954 in the sacred and sweet memory of Lala Mehr Chand Ji under the aegis of DAV College Managing Committee , New Delhi. It is privately managed , Govt. Aided Institution affiliated to Punjab State Board of Tech. Edu. and Indl. Trg. Chandigarh.
