The department of Sociology came into existence in the year 1955 as an integral part of the Institute of Social Sciences (the then: Agra University, Agra) now Dr.Bhim Rao Ambedkar University, Agra. It was aimed to impart postgraduate teaching and research in Sociology along with social work and social psychology. However, the social work course became and independent or separate department in 1983.

The Institute of Home Science located at Khandari was established in 1968 and was initially christened as Institute of Household Art and Home Science. In the beginning B,A,[Household Art] and B.Sc.[ Home Science] courses of two years were pursued. In 1970, M.A.[ Household Art] and M.Sc.[ Home Science] courses were introduced.

Sangama Nagi Reddy Degree College, located in Kurnool, in Andhra Pradesh, is a self-financing co-educational institute. The college was established in the year 1996 to impart value-based higher education for the students of Atmakur and its nearby areas. EMS Memorial Co-operative Hospital, Perinthalmanna was established to provide modern health care to the general public at affordable cost. This aim was achieved to a great extent. The Government Law College, Kozhikode, situated on the outskirts of Kozhikode, India, is owned by the Government of Kerala and affiliated to the University of Calicut.
