Sri Chitturi Indiraiah Memorial Government College was established in Tanuku in the year 1968 with the untiring efforts of Sri Chitturi Venkateswara Rao , the chief donor, who donated in the name of his illustrious late father Sri Chitturi Indraiah. The elite of the town also left no stone unturned in making the dream of establishing a Government College in Tanuku into a reality. In the beginning this Government College offered both intermediate and degree courses.
