Vaish Mahila Mahavidyalya, Rohtak was founded in 1973 as the Girls’ section of Vaish College, Rohtak by Vaish Education Society to promote and encourage higher education for girls in this region. In 1992, the college got the status of an independent college, affiliated to Maharshi Dayanand University, Rohtak and has been receiving grant from UGC from the session 1997-98.

This college came into its existence in year 1920 upon the recommendation of Presidency of Calcutta to cater to the needs of both urban and rural student's community of the region. It started with F.A. degree in the year 1920, followed by F.Sc. and later degree courses in Arts and Sciences were introduced in the year 1932.
