So in 1989-90 the Government of Maharashtra granted permission to start Bhausaheb Mulak Ayurved Mahavidyalaya and Hospital (B.M.A.M.) on no grant basis. The B.M.A.M. is affiliated to Maharashtra University of Health Sciences, Nasik and is approved by Government of Maharashtra, Bombay. It is also approved by Central Council of Indian Medicine (CCIM) New Delhi.

Indira Gandhi Government Medical College & Hospital (IGGMCH) established in the year 1905 is located on Central Avenue, near the city railway station in Nagpur, run by the Government of Maharashtra.
