In the year 1971, some generous personalities of Kharagpur came forward to establish a composite Homoeopathic Medical College & Hospital in the central part of this town to cater the needs of the distressed humanity and of those thirsting for knowledge in Homoeopathy. Kharagpur Homoeopathic Medical College & Hospital was first set temporarily in a Railway area at Subhaspally Gate, Kharagpur in 1971 and in 1978 this Institution was shifted to Kausallya, about 2 K.M. off from the Railway station.

The Midnapore Homoeopathic Medical College & Hospital was established in the year 1945, on 3rd Dec, the auspicious birthday of Sahid Kshudiram, the first sacrificed soul of Indian Freedom Movement. It is the 2nd oldest Homoeopathic Medical College in India, which is situated on the bank of river Kansaboti in the Marty's land Midnapore Town of Paschim Medinipur, the historic district of West Bengal.
