The Agricultural College and Research Institute is on the National Highway (NH) 7A at a distance of 20 Kilometres from Tirunelveli Railway Junction and 36 Kilometers from Thoothukudi. The college is at Killikulam village- 2 kilometers from Vallanadu. The college was established in 1984 as the third constituent college of Tamil Nadu Agricultural University. During the early days of inception, the college was functioning in a rented building of MDT Hindu College, Vannarappettai in Tirunelveli.
