Being a part of the Government policy towards Human Resource Development and Women Empowerment,it was in March 1979 that the Government Degree College for Women came into existence as a full fledged Arts College for Women. Since its inception,the College has grown in strength and standard and is marching ahead in pursuit of excellence offering now various other streams apart from Arts stream. Government Degree College Bishnah is located in Jammu, Jammu and Kashmir and affiliated with University of Jammu. The college was established to offer students ample of courses for learning and training basis of a particular field of the subject. The objective of the college is to direct students towards their targeted goal.

Government Degree College Paloura was established at Government Higher Secondary School vide Government Order No. 269-HE of 2007 dated 20-12-2007 and it was decided that College would function in the newly Constructed Block of the school having two Rooms. Professor Vijay Kotwal was the first Nodal Officer of the GDC Paloura and Professor Anil Goel was the first institutional over Head of the College.

The college is affiliated to Jammu university. The trust is founded by a group of well known educationists who have made significant contribution in the field of education in the region. The trust is named by a governing body headed by Th. Gulchain singh charak, chairman of The Trust, who is a well known educationist and politician.

Trikuta Degree College and Trikuta College of Computer Science and Management Studies, among the eight colleges under the aegis of "Shri Sain Charitable Trust", promises to provide service in the field of education.
