The college was founded on 30th.Aug.1978. Classes were held in Jaraka Primary School premises for six months. It was shifted to the new building on the bottom of Deuli hill near cashew field . At first the college was affiliated to Utkal University for Intermediate Arts class. Bachelor of Arts classes started in 1983- 84. +2 Science and Commerce classes started respectively in 1986 - 87 and 1983 - 84. +3 Science classes started in 1994.

Baruneswar Mohavdiyalaya, Lenkasashi, Po-Arei, Dist-Jajpur is a fully aided composite college that imparts teaching at both (+2) and Degree level, Established in the year 1980 in an agrarian set up as an Intermediate college under the Utkal University, the college become a Degree college in the year 1987-88. The college was shifted to its present site in the year 1966, after the Puja holiday, when a part of the main building was constructed with the generus confumation of the public on a plot ofland measuring 32 acres. In succeeding years. Intermediate Arts stream began in the year 1966 & Degreee classes in Arts stream in the year 1968. Intermediate commerce classes began in 1975-76 and science classes with PCMB from the session 1978-79.

Sukinda College, Sukinda was established in the year 1979, at Sukinda garh for teaching intermediate class in Arts. In the beginning the classes were held in the building of Jaganatha high school,Sukinda.The college started functioning in it's own building on 12th March on 1980 but the effort of the local people. The college is situated infront of the palace of Sukinda garh at distance of 26 kms form Jajpur Keonjhar Road.Rly station and 9 kms form state Express Highway,Duburi.
