GIET was established at Baniatangi, Bajpur, Khurda by the SPBM foundation, Bhubaneswar in May, 2009 under the provision of the Biju Patnaik University of Technology, Rourkela, Odisha. The Postgraduate Centre of GIET is functioning from the year 2013.
