The Sun Institute of polytechnic College can be traced back to 1997 when the ACP Educational trust was established under the Chairmanship of Er.Thayaparan M.E , a popular philanthropist and educationist hailing from Theckurichy. The trust has started a group of professional colleges in two different locations (Sun Nagar & Udaya Nagar) Starting from Sun Institute of Technology, the last one added is Sun Institute of Polytechnic, established in 2008.
