The WBJEE JELET 2026 syllabus is divided into two papers based on your qualifying background. Paper I is for Diploma (Engineering/Technology), B.Sc., and D.Voc/B.Voc holders, while Paper II is exclusively for Diploma in Pharmacy candidates.
📘 Paper I: Engineering, Technology, & B.Sc.
This paper covers four major subjects. The depth of the topics is generally aligned with the first-year curriculum of a Diploma in Engineering.
1. Mathematics (50 Marks)
- Matrices & Determinants: Up to order 3, Cramer’s Rule, Rank of a matrix, and inverse.
- Vector Algebra: Scalar and Vector products, Triple products, and their geometrical applications.
- Calculus: * Differential: Partial differentiation, Euler’s theorem, Maxima and Minima.
- Integral: Integration by substitution, by parts, and definite integrals.
- Differential Equations: First-order ordinary differential equations.
- Coordinate Geometry (2D): Conic sections (Parabola, Ellipse, Hyperbola), Tangents, and Normals.
- Probability: Basic concepts and theorems.
2. Physics (35 Marks)
- Mechanics: Units/Dimensions, Kinematics (Speed/Velocity/Graphs), Newton’s Laws, Work, Power, Energy, and Friction.
- Properties of Matter: Elasticity (Hooke’s Law), Surface Tension, and Fluid Mechanics (Bernoulli’s Theorem, Viscosity).
- Heat & Thermodynamics: Thermal expansion, Transmission of heat (Conduction/Convection/Radiation), and Laws of Thermodynamics.
- Optics: Reflection, Refraction, Lenses, and principles of Optical Fibers.
- Modern Physics: Photoelectric effect and Einstein’s equation.
3. Chemistry (25 Marks)
- Atomic Structure: Bohr’s model, Quantum numbers, Aufbau principle, and Hund’s rule.
- Chemical Bonding: Ionic, Covalent, and Hybridization ($sp, sp^2, sp^3$).
- Electrochemistry: Oxidation-Reduction, Electrolysis (Faraday’s Laws), and pH scale.
- Material Chemistry: Metallurgy (Extraction of metals) and Water (Hardness, Treatment).
- Organic Chemistry: Classification, Isomerism, and properties of Alkanes, Alkenes, and Alkynes.
4. Fundamentals of Electrical & Electronics (10 Marks)
- Electrical: DC Circuits (Ohm’s Law, Kirchhoff’s Laws), AC Circuits (RL, RC series), and basic idea of Transformers and Motors.
- Electronics: P-N junction diodes, Rectifiers, and Transistors (Basic idea).
💊 Paper II: Pharmacy Candidates (100 Marks)
The syllabus for Pharmacy is strictly based on the Education Regulations (ER-2020) of the Pharmacy Council of India (PCI) for Diploma in Pharmacy.
- Core Subjects: Pharmaceutics, Pharmaceutical Chemistry, Pharmacognosy, Human Anatomy & Physiology, and Social Pharmacy.
- Advanced Topics: Pharmacology, Community Pharmacy & Management, Biochemistry, Pharmacotherapeutics, Hospital & Clinical Pharmacy, and Pharmacy Law & Ethics.
📊 Quick Summary of Marks Distribution
| Paper | Category 1 (1 Mark) | Category 2 (2 Marks) | Total Questions | Total Marks |
| Paper I | 80 Questions | 20 Questions | 100 | 120 |
