The Undergraduate Common Entrance Examination for Design (UCEED) is a national-level entrance examination for admission to Bachelor of Design (B.Des) programs at the Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) and the Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISER). The UCEED exam is conducted annually by the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Bombay.

The UCEED question paper consists of three sections:

  1. Section 1: Numerical Answer Type (NAT) questions, which are multiple-choice questions with a numerical answer.
  2. Section 2: Multiple Select Questions (MSQ), which are multiple-choice questions with more than one correct answer.
  3. Section 3: Subjective-type questions which are descriptive-type questions

The UCEED question paper is designed to test the candidate’s design aptitude, visual perception, observation, and design sensitivity. The paper is designed to test the candidate’s ability to think creatively, critically, and spatially. The UCEED question paper is usually available in the English language.
