TG LAWCET Syllabus
The TG LAWCET 2026 Syllabus is identical for both the 3-year and 5-year LL.B. programs, though the difficulty level varies. The 5-year course questions are of Intermediate (10+2) level, while the 3-year course questions are of Graduate level.
Section-wise Weightage
The exam consists of 120 Multiple Choice Questions divided into three parts.

Detailed Syllabus Topics
Part A: General Knowledge & Mental Ability (30 Marks)
This section evaluates your general awareness and logical thinking.
- General Knowledge: Indian History (Ancient, Medieval, Modern), Indian Geography, Basic Economics, General Science, and Environmental Science.
- Mental Ability: Syllogisms, Logical Reasoning, Number and Letter Series, Coding-Decoding, Blood Relations, Direction Sense, and Puzzles.
Part B: Current Affairs (30 Marks)
Focuses on events from the last 12–15 months.
- National & International: Major political developments, government schemes, and international summits.
- Legal Updates: Landmark Supreme Court judgments, new bills/acts passed in Parliament, and appointments of legal dignitaries (like the Chief Justice).
- Miscellaneous: Sports, Awards and Honors, Science & Technology breakthroughs, and Economics.
Part C: Aptitude for the Study of Law (60 Marks)
This is the most critical section. It doesn’t require deep law knowledge but tests your “legal bent of mind.”
- Indian Constitution: Preamble, Fundamental Rights, Directive Principles, Power of President/Governor, and the Judicial System.
- Legal Principles: Basics of Law of Torts, Law of Crimes (IPC/BNS), and Law of Contracts.
- Legal Reasoning: “Principle and Fact” type questions where you apply a given legal rule to a specific situation.
- Legal Maxims & Terms: Common Latin terms like Habeas Corpus, Mens Rea, Caveat Emptor, and Res Judicata.
- Legal Comprehension: 10 questions (out of the 60) are based on a legal passage provided in the paper.
